Hadith of the Day

Why is prayer important?

For many individuals, prayer is an important way to connect with Allah. It may be a way to show thanks for life's gifts, seek peace and strength during difficult times, or just have a quiet discussion with Him. People may use prayer to admit their faults, seek assistance in overcoming obstacles, and find calmness and confidence. It's a chance to connect with the divine and feel a part of something bigger.

The consistency of daily prayers develops discipline and gives opportunities for self-reflection.

Obligatory Prayers

When our beloved Prophet (SWT) went to Miraj, Allah sent a gift of namaz 5 times, which is also called obligatory prayers (salat) for Muslims. Muslims gather at five specific times in a day in mosques by means of communicating with Allah. The 5 obligatory prayers of Islam for Muslims are as follows:

  • Fajar prayer
  • Dhuhr prayer
  • Asr prayer
  • Maghrib prayer
  • Isha prayer

Fajar prayer

Muslims say the Fajar prayer, sometimes known as the "pre-dawn prayer."Fajar is the first prayer, one of the five daily prayers. It is offered before sunrise. The exact time of Fajar changes throughout the year because of sunrise time.

When you initiate your day by offering a Fajar prayer, you will feel calm and focused. Your soul will be satisfied, and you’ll witness how miracles happen. I believed that the Fajar Namaz is a way through which we can get blessings, directions, and forgiveness for the day.

Related Hadith regarding Fajar prayer

This is my most favorite hadith regarding Fajar namaz, given below:

Narrated by Hazarat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace be upon him) said,

Two rakats of prayer before the Fajr (Fardh) prayer are better than the world and whatever is in it." (Sahih Muslim, Book 6, Hadith 118)

Dhuhr prayer

Muslims say a second prayer known as zohar salat. It is also known as afternoon prayer. It is offered when the sun has passed its highest point. It also gives you a break from your daily activities and work and allows you to reconnect with Allah.

During namaz, people engage in self-analysis and seek forgiveness from Allah. It empowers people to separate from the world’s distractions and concentrate only on their bond with Allah. Muslims who live in Toronto will utilize this time to pray for guidance, forgiveness, and to be thankful to Allah.

Related Hadith regarding Dhuhr prayer

Regarding Zohar Namaz Hadith, it is given below:

Narrated by Abu Huraira: The Prophet said,

"In very hot weather, delay the Zuhr prayer till it becomes (a bit) cooler because the severity of heat is from the raging of Hellfire." (Sahih Muslim, book 10, Hadith 512)

Asr prayer

Asr prayer gives Muslims a great opportunity to take a break from their daily work and involve themselves in spiritual acts. Asr namaz is the third of the obligatory prayers that Muslims offer daily. It is also known as “middle prayer."

Asr prayer time of Hanfi school of thoughts is a little bit different from other schools of thoughts. The Asar prayer starts when the shadow of an object is the same length as the object itself (or, according to Hanfi school, twice its length) plus the shadow length at Dhuhr, and lasts till the start of sunset.

Asr prayer duration is very important for the Muslim community in Toronto; it gives a good time for self-analysis, empowers people to separate from routine concerns, and helps in making a strong connection with Allah. It allows people to ask for forgiveness, find inner peace, and be grateful to Allah for his blessings upon us.

Related Hadith regarding Asr prayer

This hadith will be very beneficial for you regarding the Asr namaz, which is given below:

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever misses the Asr prayer, then it is as if he has been robbed of his family and his wealth.” (Al-Bukhari 552).

Maghrib prayer

Maghrib prayer starts when the sun sets and until the red light has left the sky. It is the fourth prayer. It is also known as “sunset prayer." Maghrib salat indicates the end of the day and the start of the evening.

For Muslims, it’s a time to make a strong connection as well as a time to communicate with the Lord of the entire world. After that, you will definitely have a comfortable heart and soul. It has a great devotional value. Maghrib time is a time to connect with Allah and seek blessings for the day that has passed.

Related Hadith regarding Maghrib prayer

Related to the Maghrib prayer, Hadith-e-Nabwi is given below:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"The time for Maghrib lasts until the twilight has faded.”.

Isha prayer

The Isha prayer time is very important for the Toronto Muslim community. It is the final prayer of the day; it indicates the end of the evening and the start of the night. Isha prayer is offered when twilight has vanished and darkness has fallen.

Isha prayer should not be offered after midnight. It must be performed before midnight. It is forgiveness and a desire to become closer to Allah.

Related Hadith regarding Isha prayer

The hadith for Namaz-e-Isha is given below:

Regarding the Isha prayer, the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

“If the people knew what reward there is in the Isha prayer and Fajr prayer, they would come even if they had to crawl.” (Sunan Ibn Majah, 796)

Conclusion

Namaz is a second pillar of Islam. Salah is the first thing you’ll be asked about on the day of judgment. In Islam, Salah is obligatory on every Muslim man and woman five times a day and night.

Prayer is obligatory upon us by Allah, and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (SWT) makes it practically important for us. Namaz is the best form of worship, and it is also a practical form of gratitude for his countless blessings.

Obligatory prayer is also known as “Fardh prayer.”. It is Fardh for every Muslim man and woman. In Islam, there are 5 obligatory (Fardh) prayers.

There are five Fardh prayers in Islam. Fajar prayer, Zohar prayer, Asr prayer, Maghrib prayer, and Isha prayer.

In every prayer, there are different rakats. Fajar prayer has 4 rakats. Dhuhr prayer has 12 rakats. Asr prayer has 8 rakats. Maghrib prayer has 7 rakats. The Isha prayer has 17 rakats.

The four kinds of compulsory rakats are as follows:

Fardh rakats are compulsory, and after that, Wajib rakats are compulsory for us. Thirdly, we should offer sunnah rakats. These sunnah rakats are not compulsory, but if you’ll offer them, Allah will give you an extra reward on the day of Akhirah. Nafal rakats are optional if you will offer these rakats Allah gives you.

There are 4 rakats in Fajar prayer. 2 Sunnah and 2 Fardh. Firstly, we do offer 2 Sunnah and then 2 Fardh.

There are 12 rakats in the dhuhr prayer. Firstly, we do offer 4 sunnah, 4 fardh, 2 sunnah, and 2 nafal.

There are a total of eight rakats in Asr prayer. First of all, we do offer prayers for 04 Sunnah and 04 Fardh.

On all counts, there are 7 rakats in Maghrib prayer. Primarily, we do offer prayers for 3 Fardh, 2 Sunnah, and 2 Nafal.

Totally, there are 17 rakats in Isha prayer. Primarily, we do offer prayers for 04 Sunnah, 04 Fardh, 02 Sunnah, 02 Nafal, 03 Wittar, and the last, 02 Nafal.

Muslims offered prayer 5 times a day. Fajar prayer is offered before sunrise; Zohar prayer is offered after the sun has passed its highest point; Asr prayer is offered in the late afternoon; Maghrib prayer is offered after sunset; and Isha prayer is offered when twilight has vanished and darkness has fallen.

Islam requires Muslims to pray five times a day as a basic component of their faith. These prayers are called obligatory prayers, or fard prayers. You are required to offer these prayers at certain times every day, and they are regarded as obligatory.

Other than the required prayers, Muslims can choose to offer optional prayers, sometimes referred to as Sunnah prayers or Nafl prayers.

Muslims pray five times a day as a vital aspect of their religion. Salat, or daily prayers, is one of Islam's Five Pillars, which all dedicated Muslims must follow. Below are the 5 prayer in islam:

Fajr: Before dawn.
Dhuhr occurs in the afternoon, when the sun has reached its greatest point.Asr: late afternoon.
Maghrib: Right after sunset.
Isha: It's night time.

In Islam, Namaz also known as Salah. It is a mandated act of devotion. It calls for certain physical poses, Quran passage reciting, and prayers. Muslims face the Kabah in Mecca five times a day in namaz. It is direct connection between the worshipper and Allah.

Muslims must pray five times a day: Fajr (before dawn), Dhuhr (after lunchtime), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (immediately after sunset), and Isha (night).

Muslims pray five times throughout the day.

The Dhuhr prayer should be conducted after the sun has reached its highest but before the Asr prayer. It is advised that you pray at the designated times to preserve the right order and discipline of Salah. Praying Dhuhr before the appropriate hour is not considered proper in Islamic tradition.
