Importance of prayer (salah) in islam

Despite the importance of prayer, it is unfortunate that many Muslims do not pray or follow the prayer requirements. Its goal is to connect with God, develop our relationship with Him, be thankful for all of His benefits, and remind ourselves of His greatness.

The soul has spiritual requirements, just as the body has physical needs like food and drink. Acts of worship, particularly prayer, meet the soul’s needs. It is possible that a person’s body is healthy but his or her soul has died.
