Importance of Jummah prayer
Friday is the chief and best day of the week. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has declared Friday “the day of Eid.” It is called Eid because it comes back in reverse.
“Hadith says that the best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On the same day Hazrat Adam (AS) was created, on the same day he was admitted to Paradise, and then on the same day he was taken out of Paradise (and sent to the world).”
The day of judgment will also be established on Friday. There is an hour on Friday on which the dua of every Muslim is accepted.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said,
“Recite many Darood Pak on me on Friday.”
You can estimate the importance of Friday from the fact that there is a whole Surah in the Holy Qur’an named after this day. This surah is named Surah Jumma.
Jumu’ah is obligatory on all Muslims, and whoever misses three Jumu’ahs, Allah puts a seal on his heart, and he is written as a hypocrite. Friday is obligatory for every Muslim except children, the sick, and women.
Preparation of Friday prayer
Jummah, the Friday congregational prayer, is a fundamental aspect of Muslim life. To approach it with the respect it deserves, preparation is essential.
Muslims generally do a full-body wash (ghusl) before Jummah, symbolizing a new beginning and interior cleanliness. Arriving early at the mosque allows for participation in pre-prayer rituals and secures a position closer to the Imam, resulting in a more focused experience. Some also read Surah Kahf, a Quranic passage thought to bring favors throughout the week.
Blessings of Friday
Friday is a time when Allah accepts every legitimate supplication. Whoever performs Ghusl on Friday and attains good purity and uses oil or whatever fragrance is available in the house, then goes out for Friday prayer and does not come between two people when he reaches the mosque, then does so as much as possible.
If a Muslim offers the Nafl prayer and listens silently when the imam starts the sermon, then all his sins are forgiven from this Friday to the next Friday. When a person does an act on Friday, better deeds are written for him in return, and if he dies on Friday or Friday night, Allah forgives his previous sins and leaves the world free.
It acts to unite the Muslim community, promote harmony, and deepen the ties that bind brotherhood and sisterhood. Muslims get together in the mosque to interact with other believers, exchange stories, and offer mutual support.
Because of all the virtues and blessings, the Friday prayer is very good for Muslims. If Muslims offer Friday prayer, then they’ll definitely succeed in this world or in the hereafter. Every Muslim should offer the Friday prayer and recognize its significance, as Allah and His Messenger have mandated it.
Conclusion
On Fridays, the Jummah prayer replaces the normal noon prayer (Dhuhr). Friday plays a significant role for the Muslisms. Muslims offer Friday prayer once a week. Friday prayer is compulsory for all adult Muslim men.
For those who offer Friday prayer, Allah sends his blessings and provisions, and he forgives all their sins that they have committed in the previous week. If the worshiper knows how many blessings surround him, he should never raise his head from prostration.
So, we should offer prayer, send abundantly Drood Pak on our beloved Prophet (SWT), and make a dua for our success in this world and hereafter. May Allah help us to offer prayer and also keep us on the right path. Ameen!
